Tonight’s supermoon is the first of only four supermoons this year. In lunar calendars, moons are usually named for the seasons. I love the Native American and other indigenous, ancient names for the moon, based on cycles of life and harvest. February’s winter moon is the Snow Moon. It's also called the “Bone Moon,” in reference to the scarcity of food during this winter month. Another name is “Shoulder to Shoulder Around the Fire Moon.”
My personal name for this month’s moon is, “Life Is Crazy Hectic, but You Must Take Time to Adore the Moon and the Birds.”
