Good morning from Cadillac Mountain, the summit of Acadia National Park in Maine, the first spot in the U.S. to see the sunrise! Ascending over the ocean layered with golden fog, it’s truly one of the most spectacular sunrises we’ve ever experienced. Ken and I found a spot away from the crowds. After photographing the sunrise, we made coffee on the summit with our trusty travel coffee kit and quietly enjoyed the peaceful, grand vista before us. It was a perfect morning.
With the popularity of the summit during the Fall, limited passes were issued in a lottery. We were lucky to get one of the 100 passes given out two days beforehand. In our quest to visit every national park, we’re happy to check off Acadia as the easternmost national park. Our time here was too short and we've already made a list of experiences for when we return.
